Hello and welcome to Together Yoga, we are Rachael, Julia and Freddy, two yoga teachers and a yoga lover, spreading the yoga love and helping to build a vibrant and warm yoga community.
Julia and Rachael met in 2013 whilst working at a local studio and soon afterwards decided to set up together collaborating on classes and day retreats making the most of the beautiful surroundings in Dorset and Hampshire. Their love of teaching yoga and exploring meant that soon they started taking the fun further afield, running holidays in Thailand, Spain and Austria.
Rachael and Julia don’t just love yoga, they also enjoy healthy eating and an active lifestyle and brought these shared passions to their events, creating carefully thought out homemade vegetarian and vegan menus for their yogis on day retreats and some of the holidays, as well as arranging or suggesting additional activities for guests to enjoy whilst travelling with them, ranging from hiking and spa soaking in Austria to rock climbing, scuba diving and paddleboarding in Thailand. They love sharing their passion for travel with their students as they search out new locations around the globe for yoga holidays.
The two teachers have also started running workshops, sharing their knowledge and thirst for learning with fellow teachers and students alike as they continue to further their own studies with Yoga Medicine advanced teacher training which blends the best of anatomy and physiology with the traditional practice of yoga.
Freddy is a professional sailor who has used yoga to help heal his body and aid in injury recovery and rehabilitation. Freddy is the “support team” all-round techno and media-whizz, editing videos, setting up websites, taking and editing photos as well as having a mean arm balance practice.
Our joint aim is to make Bournemouth a center of yoga learning and excellence (details of this will emerge shortly)

A Yoga teacher with over 200 hours of certified training, and over 10 years of regular practice my yoga journey has been a long and slightly bumpy one. I dipped in and out of yoga from my teens, trying different styles and teachers, but it wasn’t until my mid twenties when I walked into my first Mysore Ashtanga class that it really clicked for me.
I loved the dynamic flow of the primary series, the fluid strength and grace of the practice. Inhaling, exhaling, flowing, sweating, getting stronger and more open with every practice. I had finally found a way to calm my busy mind.
I have been teaching vinyasa flow and ashtanga classes to the wonderful yoga community in and around Bournemouth and Dorset since my escape from London in 2012 and run yoga day retreats and workshops in and around Dorset, and yoga holidays around the world with my yogi-sister Julia Cobban.
In addition to my ashtanga teacher training with The Yoga People in London, I completed my Sivananda teacher training at the Neyyar Dam Ashram in Kerala, Southern India. I have also completed further training with the Special Yoga Centre in London focussing on teaching yoga to those with severe developmental difficulties, and am currently undertaking my 500 hour teacher training in Yoga Medicine with Tiffany Cruikshank
Julia's love for yoga was sparked in Vancouver, Canada in 2006. It was there that she practiced yoga with a variety of inspiring, knowledgeable and experienced teachers, and this led her to complete her 200hr teacher training with Frog Lotus Yoga in 2009. Julia believes that movement is medicine and is continually dedicated to gaining as much knowledge and experience as she can to share with her students. She is currently continuing her education with Yoga Medicine - a thorough anatomically based training system, to better understand the human body within a yoga practice.
Whether practicing yoga in a group and feeling that incredible energy only found in a room of like minded yogis, on a paddleboard in the middle of the ocean or practicing alone at home, for her nothing compares. Julia is positive and upbeat, as well as warm and compassionate. Her classes are playful and fun with dynamic and creative flows, which will allow you to challenge yourself by offering developing variations while being mindful of your body and breath.
I have practiced with some amazing and inspiring teachers from around the world and I honour the lineage of my teachers, Philippa Asher, Shiva Rea, Sarah Vaughan, David Swenson, Jamie Clarke and Dulce Aguilar, Claire Missingham, Kathryn Budig, Tiffany Cruikshank, Kino MacGregor. Namaste..
